Flexipass Pass

Does my pass include accommodation?

No, Flexipass™ gives you complete freedom to choose where you want to stay. Check our accommodation page for accommodation types, rates and reservations.  

Can I change my departure dates?

Yes. You can make changes to your itinerary up to 2 hours prior to departure on all coach sectors.

Can I get off anywhere?

Yes. As long as it’s within our network you can hop on and off wherever you choose.

How long is my Flexipass™ valid for?

It is valid for 12 months from the date of activation giving you plenty of time to stop where you want for longer. Activation occurs once travel has been booked.

Do top-ups extend the life of my pass?

No. Top-up hours are valid only within the existing life of the pass i.e.12 months from the initial activation.

What’s included in my pass?

Coach transport on our national network including selected dedicated sightseeing tours throughout the country, the Interislander ferry between Wellington and Picton, and the Hole in the Rock Cruise from Paihia. Meals and optional activities are not included in your pass price but are available

What if I don't use all my hours, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately we cannot refund a portion of your Flexipass™ once it's been activated (i.e. once you have booked your first journey). You can however gift or sell it onto somebody else.

Please note that Flexipass is only valid for travel on InterCity (IC), InterCity Link (IL), Newmans (NM), Northliner (NL), GreatSights New Zealand (GS) coach services and selected Fullers GreatSights Bay of Islands (GB), awesomeNZ (AW)

I'm travelling with a friend, can we use the same pass?

No, each traveller must have their own pass.  For example you cannot buy a single 30 hour pass for two people; you must buy two 15 hour passes.  It is possible to buy two or more passes in one booking transaction.  If you do this you and your friend(s) must travel together on the same dates and same services.  However if you intend to travel on different dates or services you must purchase the passes in separate booking transactions.  If you purchase two or more passes in the same booking but later decide to travel separately, please contact us directly to split your pass.  A NZ$50 administration fee applies for splitting passes.  

Are there any discounts for people over senior citizens or small groups?

No. Since Flexipass is heavily discounted travel, there are no discounts for senior citizens or small groups.

Flexitrips Pass

What is considered a trip?

Each time you board a new coach counts as a new trip, for example if you travel from Nelson to Christchurch and have a coach change in Blenheim that counts as two trips.

What tour/cruise options are inlcuded in my flexitrips pass?

You can use your Flexitrips pass to cross the North and South islands on the Interislander ferry (1 trip per crossing), take an awesomeNZ day tour to Milford Sound (2 trips return, cruise additional) and enjoy a dolphin watching cruise to the ‘Hole in the Rock’ in the Bay of Islands (1 trip).

Can I change my departure dates?

Yes. You can make changes to your itinerary and even cancel a booking up to 2 hours prior to departure without any penalties.

Can I use my pass to go back and forth between two places?

Repeat journeys between the same stops are not allowed, however you are entitled to one return journey.

Can I get off anywhere?

Yes. As long as it’s within our network you can hop on and off wherever you choose.

If I don't use all my trips can I get a refund?

There are no refunds for unused trips but you may gift or sell it on to someone else.

Flexitrips pass can not be used on Great Sights (GS) direct services between Christchurch and Queenstown, Auckland and Rotorua and Northliner (NL) services between Auckland, Paihia (Bay of Islands) and Kerikeri (Bay of Islands) or any contracted private operator bus service/s.

Meals and accommodation are not included in your pass. Milford Sound boat cruise is additional.
